Lets just say they're related to love...

First and foremost, guess who I saw at the mall today?
IT'S A FRICKING GIANT PIKACHU. *Hyperventilates*
Yeah, there was this promotion for Pokemon Black and White happening at the mall. There was this activity section (which I assumed were for children, which is a shame) where you could colour in the new starters (so wanted to do that), make a paper Pikachu visor, get your face painted, and - of course - sample the new game.

Anyways, moving away from Pokemon and to actual art stuff. Productive this time, as well as being experimental and colourful. Oh, and all of them are traditional.

An angel

Note to self: fixative and markers do not work good together. So the explosion of red at the bottom is in no way intentional.
Thought it is beyond me as to why only the red smudged everywhere and the rest stayed put.

When I was colouring her wings in, I was like, "Huh, the colours remind me of a fish." Not good right there.

Inked with a sepia Prismacolor fine liner.
Coloured with COPICs.

Stranger
Tried to do the salt gimmicky thing with it, except the paper wasn't wet enough, I dumped a whole bunch of salt in one collected place, and I didn't grind the salt enough prior to sprinkling it on (since we use kosher salt due to it not containing iodine, but that's another story for another time). So, given the conditions, it kind of failed.

Not too crazy about the yellow/orange background, either. I thought it'd contrast nicely with the darkness and the purple of the subjects, but now it makes it more happy then it should be intended. Should've stuck with gray or blue or something.

Made with Artist's Loft and Talens watercolours and Artist's Loft water soluble pencils.

Hook, Line, and Sinker
Might remember this picture before scribbled into my agenda. I've been thinking about redrawing some of my agenda pictures, due to me liking the concept but horribly failing at conveying it initially. I think it goes without saying that this is a much better rendition. I mean, the pose, for one, looks a lot better. The only thing that sucks in that I couldn't fit the fishing pole in.

Maybe I should've used a reference for the heart, even though I just finished learning about it in Bio. I'm quite acquainted with it, especially since I just studied it for who knows how long for midterms.

Background was a pain to do, plus it looks pretty bad. I was waffling between drawing this and watching a horror movie, too (not a good one, mind you).

Drawn in pencil.

Skull
The diagonal lines are there because I trimmed the paper into a weird shape. It looks pretty cool set in front of its news print background (made of rectangles I cut out of the Chinese newspaper that was lying around; don't worry because I only destroyed the ads).

Trying to mimic the black and white style of Miwa Shirow. Like, seriously. Zero screen tones, just pure black and white, man. I don't know how well I did with this, though. I think there should be more pure black areas, but you know how hard those are to colour when you have a 0.05 pen?

Skull (obviously) was heavily referenced, and thus looks great. Like it's my favourite damn part, even though I know it's nowhere near anatomically correct!

Inked with Sakura Pigma pens.

Tears
I don't like how the eye makes the picture so top-heavy so I tried to even it out with the tear-drop shape going on. Used yellow and orange for the same reason for another picture above.

I like how her face has a tear-drop shape, though the neck kind of kills it.

I also plan to add some details using the spanking new dip pen set I bought yesterday and some white ink. I'm not going to update the picture if I do, though, so just imagine its.

Made with Talens watercolours on index card.

Alright, and now lets say they're all related to love so I can say that it's related to Valentines Day.

(Giant Pikachu - OMFG.)
