Dollz: McDonald's Intrepretation of a Korean Kitty Bride

It's been a while since I've dolled anything. I've done pixel art, but I haven't really touched any drawing on top of  bases - until now.

EDIT: Added the final dot to her head - but no one saw the change anyways so it's all good.
The Korean bridal outfit worn by one of my Hello Kitty plushies.
My inspiration comes from, if you didn't already read early, a Hello Kitty plushie I have which is dressed as a Korean bride. Like with all my other multicultural bride and groom Hello Kitties and Dear Daniels, I got them all in Hong Kong from relatives but it's quite obvious from all the golden arches these dolls have on them that they're from McDonalds.

I can't say if the outfit is 100% factually  it probably isn't even remotely simular to real Korean bridal garbs, but I just copied it off a Hello Kitty. I'm pretty sure that the flower on her head isn't worn by real brides, but Hello Kitty always has something over her left ear. Hopefully the hair and makeup is right because Hello Kitty's lack of hair forced me to Google that up.

It was supposed to be "quick" but it really took me about a good 3 hours to finish. I blame the striped, multi-coloured wonsam. Can you tell it's supposed to have a red, green, and orange stripe?
Yup, I think I painstakingly tried to keep as much detail as I could, minus the McDonald golden arches on the ribbon-esque parts and some of the minute details on the cap.

All in all, I say that it's a giant leap from my previous dolls. For one, I didn't use premade palettes (which was kind of a pain) and in general it just looks better. I could show everyone my old dolls, but they suck. Period.

Can't wait to do the Dear Daniel counterpart to her.

Anime Evolution and Chibis!

I've attended the local anime convention, Anime Evolution, for almost three years now. Last year I decided to actually buy a pass and not just be taking pictures of cosplays and browsing the Artist Alley (and what a good decision, too, because the where it was set had some hardass security!). It all started as a joke with my friend as I was browsing Artist Alley. I told her that I should kick one of the ugly people by taking a table myself. And a year and a couple of days later - now I'm, sitting in front of my very own table.

Highlights:
  • Sneaking into things.
  • Sharing the table with my friend and her 5 for 5 cent keychains!
  • The worst cosplay competition and the winner - Gundam box.
  • Going to the Team Four Star panel and seeing everyone in real life - and seeing the new episode before anyone else minus the people in the panel.
  • Pedobear trying to pick me up when I said I was still a minor.
  • Getting a hug from Lanipator when I said I was a fan of Yu Yu Hakusho Abriged - because I am.
  • Buying Zelda: Ocarina of Time for 15 bucks - exactly.
  • Getting commissioned five times.
  • Selling around $80 dollars worth of art!
Yup, that's right: almost $80 dollars worth! I'm really surprised because I didn't think I would even make $50 dollars to cover the table costs but I was able to on the first day! Unfortunately, I didn't pay off all the printing costs but that's all good because 80 bucks is awesome enough.

And most of my sales came from these (it's okay if I show them because I'm just going to remake them for next year anyways - but yeah, no stealing all that shiz):

Left to right; top to bottom:
Link, Shiek, Alphonse Elric, Edward Elric, Ciel Phantomhive (), Ciel Phantomhive ();
Zelda, Zero Suit Samus Aran, Winry Rockbell, Claire, Sebastian Michaelis
, Natsu Dragneel;
Gray Fullbuster, Ignis, Hiei, Enma Ai, Shiki;
Kamina, Yoko Litner, Yuri Nakamura, Tenshi (Kanade Tachibana), Youko Kurama, Akira.

Man, did we ever have the worst spot in the whole Artist Villa (that's right, the name changed). It was hidden in some secluded hallway that could only be seen by people who were unfortunate enough to be trapped in the lineup spanning on the opposite wall of the hallway. I'm not joking, it was horrible. I bet if there wasn't signs everywhere saying, "MORE ART IT'S AWESOME" pointing in my direction, no one would have known. They would have been more occupied in the parts of Artist Villa held in the main entrance and in the two visible rooms upstairs.

Now that I'm not so much an Arist Villa noob, I think I have a good idea of what my art is worth.
Also, never doing "Pay what you want" day ever again, haha. I think the record was 2 bucks for a large 8x11 print and four chibis. Yup, shut down the offer after that.

I bought an evil bunny plushie, a commission of one my complicated characters, a Kaito magnet, and a tiny keychain in that order! The last two things I just bought because my wallet was so full of coins that it was getting hard to close!

I'm actually starting to do some art for next year because now I learned that even with art, rushing on the last day is balls.

I really can't wait for next year! For some reason, though I didn't feel this for any prior years, I'm actually kinda sad that AE is over. Oh, I'm going to miss waking up at 9, meeting my friend, and driving everyone there!

Sketches: Forgotten Crap

Moar art.

Hover over each picture for the description.
Nevermind! Blogger's the most annoying thing I've ever used regarding pictures! Enjoy the inconsistency!
Actually drawn a start of the year kind of picture on New Years. It's actually been rotting on my hard drive for a while.
Their names are actually Hitoshi and Natsumi. Yes, very weeaboo. Obvious, they're based off Artemis and Apollo respectively. I made them around the start of grade 7, hence the lameness.

Some redraws of some more art from various forums on CR. I think the third picture from the top left was traced, but whatever because the pose was interesting to duplicate.

This was actually scrap paper I was given to brainstorm for the essay I was writing for my writing 12 midterm. I spent some of that time drawing the top concept. The bottom two pics (the dragon controlled by Anaria and Anaria herself) I drew on my spare time. I actually like the Anaria sketch. I sprayed some art varnish on it to prevent the heavy-leaded sketch from smudging, hence the slight shine.

Redesigns for my Subeta pets Hikitori and Kiann and as well as a design for a future Lain who will take on my pseudonym Yukiko.

Some scribbles I did during English class.

Actually, quite an old picture (drew around grade 8) but I finally decided to finish inking the picture. Unfortunately, all the ugly anatomical mistakes were there so I just tried to add some more details to make it look somewhat more acceptable. If there was colour, the butterfly thing would be light blue.

A quick ref of the humanoid version of my fursona (did you get that?) I was going to use for my commission at AE before I decided on using my Daniella ref.

I would have normally explained each picture underneath the picture except I hate Blogger's formatting shit so screw that.

Drawn with pencil on plain ol' paper.
3rd and 4th picture drawn with pen.
9th picture inked with Pilot and Staedtler fineliners.

Vocaloid Series: Lily

Who's this? Teto with her hair down and a new outfit? A Miku remake? Another Vocaloid derivative?
Nope. Her name is Lily, the newest member of the family. However, the company which made Miku has no relation to this new Vocaloid. She's a joint with Yamaha (I believe they're responsible for Leon and Sonika) and Avex, though she is designed by the same person as Luka, Miku, and Len and Rin.

Well, I just wanted to finish her before her official release.

I did something different with Lily than what I usually do. Notice how her whole body's included in the picture? That's due me sketching the picture out beforehand. It was just a silly sketch, but I thought I would colour it. I've always been the supporter for the more unknown people in the Vocaloid family. I don't know if Lily will be the next big thing. We'll have to wait and see.

I draws in physics because I hate doing math

Yup, these pictures were scanned three months ago and are going up now. Oh well, "better late than never".

All of these pictures were drawn during my physics 11 course I took during summer. Yeah, I get bored when I'm supposed to be doing my homework. Who doesn't? (Check out my awesome physics work, too!)

A guy.
Oh well, like you know what the code on top means. I don't even remember.

Starfish loves you, loves you.
Yukiko in fursona form.
Yes, she's a sheep/goat. I thought I'd be cool and chose something out of the norm (ie canines and felines). Drawn on the same sheet as the picture above.
The head of a dragon. It's made of moonlight/comes from the moon and can be summoned by one of my mary-sues because we all know dragons make good attacks. I will not tell you what the name of the dragon is because it's just that lame.
I had to make for writing 12, of all the writing I did in the course, which I took at the same time as physics. I did the layout and coding all by myself! :)
A face and some brainstorming for my online portfolio website.
More brainstorming for a website for writing 12.
I had to make another website, but this one which offers advice. I was initially going for a banner with fictions' most notable characters, but I was short on time and used a generic site template.

Kanaria "life demon" form.
OHOHO, doesn't that "life demon" part sound lame already? Didn't I tell you that Kanaria started as an uber mary-sue? Of course she needed a bullshit second form obtained through a Sailor Moon-esque transformation - with wings!
Vocaloid Lily.
Lily was still in the process of being made when I drew this. This is probably among the first fanart of her! Gasp!

Yeah, didn't do so hot in physics. Oh well, that's the reason why I took it in summer school anyways!

Drawn with pencil and lined paper.
First picture drawn an index card.
