Papercraft: Kitty

Some more papercrafts. I've been getting into those as of recent.

Meow.

Design.

Probably the hardest design I've tried to conquer yet, especially with all the small fussy bits.

Once my printer gets more yellow ink, I'm so ready to work on the love birds. Now, I just need to find out where to put 'em when they're done...

Graduation Owl Papercraft

Man, if only I had found these sooner! I couldn't made them for one of my two friends who graduated last year. But as of now, the only person graduating soon is me. So I guess it's a graduation gift to myself, haha?

Oh, but before I show you the picture, I must say this: check out the awesome collection of licensed manga in the background.
Graduating Owl Papercraft.
Template.

What's cool about it is that there's a male and female versions, and both have a change of robe colour and the scroll be a bouquet or something. I chose the generic female one as I'm not a dude.

The owl is also intended to have a message on the yellow/green paper disc its standing on.

Pretty awesome, huh? You'd never know it was made out of paper unless I told you.

Now I'm inspired to make a dog or maybe some more birds.

School Doolies 6.6: Miscellaneous Crap

Did you think that I totally neglected any art over the past few months of absence? Of course not!
Yes, the last part of my Schoolie Doolies part 6! Time for some random crap!

For example...

Man-dog loves you.

Check out the other parts to this six part upload-spam series:
6.1: Studies
6.2: Kanaria and Anaria
6.3: Concepts
6.4: Can You Keep a Secret
6.5: FANARTS

Drawn on printer paper with plain ol' mechanical pencil.

Oh yeah! Happy belated lunar New Years! I have a picture (not completed) I made for the lunar New Year. Hopefully, I'll get around to that, but in the meantime...

"Rawr" goes my oni mask.

Christmas 2009 Gifts: Rosuto, Takara, and Akina Shrinky-Dinks

The title says it all, really. xD
A month ago, I was thinking about what would be a cool gift for my friends. I wanted to do something cool, like what Rosuto does every year. Maybe a clay figure? But I suck with that. Maybe a plushie? I don't have enough felt, let alone the skillz to make 'em. Looks like I could only draw something... and that's what I did.
Hurray for Shrinky-Dinks!

It's weird, no one really has them in stock anymore for some reason. I check Toys R Us, but alas, they had none. I had to go over to Michaels to get a pack.
Why are they so expensive too?

So, yeah. These 'aint your grade 2 craft time Shrinky-Dink creations. No, these are some pimped up Shrinky-Dink charms. I drew out every picture on 4.5x6 cm rectangles, since they shrink to 1/3 their size. I even left some space for the place where I'd punch holes in the paper, so after baking, I could loop these metal loops you'd find connecting charms that break off easily so they can be proper charms. But before that part, I'd spray some varnish on the finish thing. It looks nice that way - that is, if you don't mess up.

I present you with the sketches, as the Shrinky-Dinks themselves are already given away. The sketches aren't coloured either, but I'll give you the reference pic so you can imagine. Imagination is such a virtue. :D

Top row - Rosuto: Lyeria, Arcaia, Clarette, Acardeous, *Him*, piepiepiepiepie (for Takara)
Middle row - Takara: Emo panda (wasn't made), Takara-otter, sudowodo, magickarp (wasn't made), mudkip, "Sunshine, lollipops, and rainbows...", bottled happiness
Bottom row - Akina: Akina-kat, Akina, Akina, Makoto, Aurae

I suck at knitting

They say practice makes perfect. My fabric arts teacher things so too. That's why she got us to make 22 stiches by 22 stiches swatches to practice our knitting.
However, I guess the rule doesn't apply to me.
It's been three months into my fabric arts class, and see what I've accomplished so far!

From left to right: knitting swatch, purling swatch, stockinette swatch.
I even revisited my knitting swatch recently (because A: my other one sucked, and B: I gave it away) and you know what? I still see the suckiness still lingering thar.

Made with borrowed-from-school plastic knitting needles and purple cotton yarn and 100% half-assness!

Halloween Jack-o-Lanterns

Belated much? Oh well

From left to right: Moono, an owl.

Guess which one I did? Moono! Of course.
I also did the owl one, that is, if I were as talented as my sister is at pumpkin carving. Apparently, a trick-or-treater's parent came to our house and told my mom to relight the jack-o-lantern because it was so nice. Of course, it wasn't my jack-o-lantern.

Even the camera could focus itself on the Moono-lantern because it just sucks that much. *sigh*

Finally: Toon Link Papercrafts

I mentioned a while ago that I was making Four Sword Toon Link papercrafts and I was gonna post them, right? Well, they’re too awesome not to show, SO HERE THEY ARE:

From left to right: Classic Link, Blue Link, Original Link, Toner Link (mainly from accident), Purple Link, Red Link
I tweaked all of their colours in Photoshop. Dark Link deemed too hard to edit, though, so he’s not pictured here.
But you know what I realised? When I Googled “four swords link papercraft”, I came across a papercraft blog. As it turns out, someone else already had my idea, and did a better job than me editing them. Go figure.
…I’ll make those guys too. :P
Well, enjoy~
