Fanart: Kurama and Youko Kurama

Did I ever mention that I'm an avid Yu Yu Hakusho fan? Though this may not be unheard of for some, I live in Canada and we don't got no Cartoon Network here. That translates to a lot of people going, "Yu Yu Hakusho? What's that?" (Though Hunter X Hunter is a different story, though it's made by the same dude.)
In fact, I'm listening to Yu Yu Hakusho character songs right nao.

I'd love to take the time to add right now that I am no "I liek mainstream animus" kind of guy, mmkay?

But in any case, if you haven't guessed already, after doing fanarts for Panuto-kun and Friends, I figured I might as well do some for another favourite of mine's.

Kurama and Youko Kurama
I was also working on this in the library. Nobody complemented me on this, though, but I prefer it if there wasn't someone watching me work, lol.

Messed up Kurama's hair badly. That's my half-assed way to salvage it.
Pants look liek shiet, too. Folds will be the bane of me.

Something about fine lining the way I do makes pictures look so much... noobish to me. Always have, from the time I first got my hands on some Sakura Pigma pens. I don't know what it could be, though.

Oh yeah, it's Kurama's character song that I'm listening to, too.

Made with Sakura Pigma pens on Canson sketch book paper.

Back to doin' some figure practice

Used Pixel's Lovely's gesture drawing app instead of Posemaniacs this time. A little more challenging because some of the people are in ass-hard poses, and since its photos, some of the pics have clothes as opposed to naked, stripped-to-the-muscle, 3D models.

They've also got an animal one, but they don't have many pictures, lol.

SUM PANUTO 'N FRIENDS FANART

Didn't you hear? I'm the number one fan of Panuto-kun and Friends. Seriously, search that up, or click on the link before. It even has a wiki. You must know it's legit.

Pretty much, the story's about a typical shounen hero, Panuto, who has to save the world and defeat a guy in an eye patch for destroying his clan. He befriends a group of more stereotyped members, like two tsunderes, a big-boobed school girl, a useless cat girl, and a useless-ass sidekick, among others.

Well, without further ado:

Panuto-kun and Friends
A big group pic with everyone in it. It's such a shame how I couldn't fit eveyrone properly, especially Zorpulqux/Ted who's just floating in the corner.

Hiroshi and Sam
The two tsuns of the group. However, Sam is more a "I'm an asshole who think you're a pervert" kind of person, and Hiroshi's an "I'm silent and emo" kind of guy. So, in essence, Sam will beat you up to show that she hates you, while Hiroshi will just hate you.
Made up a lot of little details just cuz. I'm the artist here; I can do whatever I want.
And hell yeah, up-skirt panty show. Gotta have some fan service, right?

I was actually sketching this in the library (because I can only study for math for so long) and someone complimented me. Usually I'd say "ugh, yeah, not really" but so doesn't know me, so meh. Uninteresting story of the day.

I have to say, though, even though Hiroshi is the little emo kid, he's my favourite character (because I designed him- LOL).

Also, you know what else I'm capable of?

TedXPanuto
HOLY SHIT, IS THAT YAOI? That's right kids, you should shield your eyes if this kind old man didn't go out of his way to do that for you.

Obviously, I tried to make it like a n00b did it. I mean, all good mangas have shitty-ass looking fanart, right? It looks pretty convincing, right?

There's also some real, 18+, not-stupid-looking fanart I did. I won't link it, though, but my friend did colour it and upload it to her gallery. I am not hold accountable for innocent eyes scarred.

Agenda: January's almost over

Sunday
"Studies: of people in class"
I am not a creeper.
But yes, these are people in my class, my IT class to be exact (minus the two pics on the far left). You know how hard it is to sketch something decent when a) everyone has their back turned to me or b) when they don't, they're moving around?
Once again, I would like to state that I'm not a creeper. I'm an artist. It's okay.

Monday
"Hook, line, and sinker"
The fishing hook is hooked to what is supposed to be her heart. It totally looks like one, right? I should know; I just did my circulation unit in Bio. It's unfortunate how the black stuff around it kills the heart's shape.

I've been hooked (see what I did thar) on this idea for a while so I finally decided to put it onto paper.

Clipped off a bit of the first pic too. Bleh.

Tuesday & Wednesday
Anaria
See what a little bit of coloured pen ink can do to a picture? It would've looked better if my light-blue pen didn't die and forced me to use my dark-blue pen, though.
The red stuff's supposed to be flames.

Thursday
Panuto, Sam, Hiroshi, and Yumi
Hello, pro-d! However, this has nothing to with it what-so-ever. I drew it in advance during school. Also did the coloured outline thing, carried on from the picture above. I thought the effect looked nice.
Enjoy ze fanart.

Friday & Saturday
"I wear this angel's crown to cover up my devil's frown."
"Sweet red cherry blossom tree..."
Both pics were inspired somewhat by Unhearted by Automatic Loveletter. They're probably my two favorite lines, more in a musical sense anyways (or at least, the last one is). The crying girl has no relation, though I guess I can relate her in by saying the song is sad, or what not. I like how she turned out, though.

I like how the two earlier pictures, my exploration with colour turned out pretty good. Then I killed the streak with this orange and blue monstrosity.

Realism-ish Practice

These were more so done so that I can get better at realism before my big end-of-term, graphic novel assignment for English (as I boasted how I could draw the comic in that... sigh).
My oldest one which isn't really practice. I drew her after watching some old kaidan films that were on TV.
Drew during art class. There some other doodles preceding this, but whatever. No refs used, however...

See the improvement for when I do use refs? I tried to attempt a wider range of people, who had different face shapes, different ages, and ethnicity. I don't think I did so food with resemblance, but some people you can sort of tell where they're from.
Some of the things you can find there are celebrities, old people, a bunny who likes to clap for you, and a tree who will rape you if you don't repost this to 20 other people.

Agenda: I lurv Digimon and Pokemon equally, but I only play Pokemon

Pokemon Diamond, to be exact. However, these agenda pages are dedicated to the unloved bro.

Sunday
Patamon, Salamon, Gatomon, Mew, Monzaemon, an appropriately named Bearmon, and a Taomon
When you draw something form memory, or get all the details wrong.
But yes, I'm showing some Digimon love, because even though their names may be stupid, I think some of their designs can totally kick some Pokemon's designs any day. Plus, a lot more humanoid Digimon.
Poor Mew; the only Pokemon there.

Monzaemon's awesome. I mean, just look at it. It "likes to play with children".

Monday
I liked how this particular nekkid guy came out.

Tuesday
More nekkid, face-less peoples.

Wednesday

Angewomon, Angemon, and supposedly a Cherubimon
If any hardcore Digimon fans still exist, I totally killed their designs (especially Cherubimon, in both design and name). This is what happens when I try to recall something from memory.
The fans should also know that I attempted to draw the three celestial Digimon: Patamon, Gatomon, and Lopmon, or at least, their Digi-volved versions anyways.
And I know you like how both Angewomon and Angemon are missing their wings - minus Angemon who has one - when they're supposed to have eight and six wings respectively. And apparently, Angewomon's eight wings outrank Angemon's six, until you take into consideration that she's already in her ultimate form when he's in his champion.

See what you Pokemon fanboys have been missing out on?

Can't wait to do their evil counterparts.

Thursday
Realism-ish practice. Actually tried to recall one of my refs from memory, but like my Digimon, it didn't turn out so good.

Friday& Saturday
I must be in a real block if I'm resorting to just drawing the things I wear. Even more so in the first picture which is me just having fallen into a particularly muddy path while walking to school, and having to bear dirt-streaked pant legs for half of the day (I luckily changed for the other half).

Nothing much to say about the other pics, though. Those are the more memorable outfits, I suppose.

Drawn in my agenda.

Agenda: I need more men

...in my drawings, I mean. Lul.

Sunday
I can't draw animals to save my life.

Monday & Tuesday & Wednesday
It also cuts into Saturday too (as shown by the tail) but whatever~

It's the stuff I wear. On top, it's summer clothes, and on the bottom, it's me in a scarf and trench coat. I don't have a start plushie like that, though.

I like the crosshatching in the background of the second pic. I might explore using stuff like that a bit further, plus, backgrounds fill up unwanted space.

Thursday & Friday
Well, here's a break from the mountains and mountains of females! A dude - and a shirtless one at that.
I like how the shading on his pants turned out, especially the folds on his crotch. Generally, though, the shading's better than average.

Saturday
Experimenting with pure, clean-cut black and white shading. Not too much of a fan of it, but I'll play with it a bit more.
Don't know what's going on in the background, though. Bubbles, me thinks?

I've also got lyrics to Sweet Memories by Olivia Ong written in the corner:

Don't kiss me baby,
We can never be.
So don't add more pain.
Please don't hurt me again.
I have spent so many nights thinking of you,
Longing for your touch,
I have once loved you so much.

From my chemistry binder pt 2 - I should've done it last year

...and these are only the old pics I found in it. (And old as in I-didn't-upload-them-last-year-like-I-was-supposed-to old.)
I stuff a bunch of pictures in my chem binder because, right now, it's after my art class.

Abs and torsos.
Doodles with a friend to show how ABS ARE DONE.

Reverse side of the top pic. Not much to say about this one, but I think it might've been a concept for sumthing I don't remember nao.
Girl in my messed up version of a furisode.
A furisode is a kimono with long-ass sleeves reserved for unmarried, young women. 'cept mine's is incorrect because I hacked off a lot of the "gown" part for my own personal likings. It's kind of a shame I won't be finishing this because it looks pretty good so far, me thinks.
Yukiko.
Muscle studies among other things.
I link doing muscle studies. These two pics were actually on the same sheet, except they were on opposite ends of a big, white, empty space.

Watch out for part 3!

MS Paint is only good for pixelling

Because all their other tools are the shits.

I tried, okay, to make something "painterly". But when you have an app with no layers and brushes which can't blend FO SHIT, it's really difficult.
Ugh, what is this?!
Yeah, the crappy colour palette forced me to choose each colour individually. You may not know what I'm saying, but if you ever tried to find a certain shade on MS Paint, you know it's hell.
Stuck to two brushes, mainly: the diagonal one and, um, a generic paint brush, I think? Still damn hard to use.

I hate the new MS Paint. So pixelling unfriendly. And the new additions suck, so.
Speaking of MS Paint, I totally lost the WIP of a doll was working on. Damn it! I swear, I safety saved!

On to some other stuff:
Ignis Chibi
Might do a better lineart of her and then sell her for AE. We'll see, we'll see. I do know I'm remaking all my chibis, though, lawl.
Me
Stuff I wear in winter. Scarfs actually do their thing in the cold, surprisingly. 10 minute doodle, like this post.

Agenda: short but intense

Sunday & Monday & Tuesday & Wednesday
Whoa! That's some intense stuff right there. And it's coherent ish. Yeah for scribbles?
Probably my newest thing in my agenda I'm proud of having in there.

Thursday & Friday & Saturday
The Bird House
It left my bird house to return back to its owner.
Not much to say about this one.

End the post off with this:
I'm Sorry
...for not being everything you thought I could be...

Sketched out a bigger version of this on another piece of paper. I'm planning of CGing it, but who knows when I'll get started on that.

What's this? Another meme?

By george, you're right.

Style Meme by Thats-Your-Funeral
Blank meme.

This was ridiculously fun to do, even though I spent way more time than I should've on some pictures (*cough*DisneyandDC*cough*). It was also great practice to see just how far I was able to get out of my comfort zone, too.
I used a lot of references, too, haha. Yes, I actually use those things!

Oh, and the wapanese says Jingai Makyo, even though it should really say Jingai Makyou.

Sorry for butchering your styles, though, Inky and Akina!

My mary-sue totally kicks your's ass

I decided to search for some memes yesterday, especially one where I didn't have to just find pictures of past work and actually get to draw something. I found something pretty short, but seemed pretty interesting, especially when you're using my characters.

Mary-Sue Meme by Wazupz
Blank meme.
I'm not joking about the part about me stealing ideas from other mary-sue fics. I really wish I was.

Bonus: here's a sketch of said mary-sue, as well.
The infamous Anaria.
It was supposed to be colouring skin practice, as well as a test to try a different technique, except the colours turned out really blah. I hate having to resort to blues and purples to make the skin interesting, but really, the shades I picked before were just different saturations of the same hue.

From my chemistry binder

Some leftovers from before winter break. I recently discouvered them now when I was looking for some more lined paper for chemistry class. They were done in my art class.

The head was done quite a while ago, maybe even in October/November. Everything else slowly came after it, starting with the girl. I just had this huge animal muscle study session the day prior to painting these so I wanted to continue running with it. I think the red paint looks pretty nice as an accent.

"I want to buy you flowers//It's just a shame you're a boy."
I've been  using flowers in a lot of my paintings and titles for said paintings.

I sketched on a base for this picture first, and even crudely shaded it in with pencil. At some parts, I just went over it with a black wash.  And I just touched up some of the flowers on her chest with some Copics to give it that deep red colour I originally wanted.

Semi-inspired by the song (you guessed it) Flowers, by Emilie Simon, and I only say "semi" because it has nothing to relate with the actual lyrics. I was just thinking about it when I did the piece, so yeah.

Painting these pictures made me realize that no matter how less paint I use, I always get too much. I got a drop of red for the top pic, and even that couldn't be used up. What happened? I used to use too much for my paintings a couple of years ago:
Silence
At least there wasn't much worry about warping. Pictures (or at least, when I pulled them out) came out pretty flat.

Drawn with mechanical pencil on paper not meant for paint.
Painted with really watered-down tempura.
Second picture touched up with Copics.

Morning Sketches

Born from when I couldn't concentrate with finishing another picture which is currently in the works.

My fursona.
Are these Yukiko's colours, because frankly, I can't remember at all (though she is my fursona.) Just tells you so much about how much I draw her, right?
Pretty much practice with animals. I don't do them enough, even though I totally went on an animal muscle study spree a couple of weeks or so ago.

If I ever get around to making her a new ref, I think I'll change her eye colour to brown for the same reasons my persona does.

Started off a sketch of my persona to go with my fursona sketch, but ended up as a doodle with my reflection on the mirror next to me as a ref.
Doesn't look like me at all, but for a 5 minute sketch, it's not bad. Need some more practice with realism.
