A month ago, I was thinking about what would be a cool gift for my friends. I wanted to do something cool, like what Rosuto does every year. Maybe a clay figure? But I suck with that. Maybe a plushie? I don't have enough felt, let alone the skillz to make 'em. Looks like I could only draw something... and that's what I did.
Hurray for Shrinky-Dinks!
It's weird, no one really has them in stock anymore for some reason. I check Toys R Us, but alas, they had none. I had to go over to Michaels to get a pack.
Why are they so expensive too?
So, yeah. These 'aint your grade 2 craft time Shrinky-Dink creations. No, these are some pimped up Shrinky-Dink charms. I drew out every picture on 4.5x6 cm rectangles, since they shrink to 1/3 their size. I even left some space for the place where I'd punch holes in the paper, so after baking, I could loop these metal loops you'd find connecting charms that break off easily so they can be proper charms. But before that part, I'd spray some varnish on the finish thing. It looks nice that way - that is, if you don't mess up.
I present you with the sketches, as the Shrinky-Dinks themselves are already given away. The sketches aren't coloured either, but I'll give you the reference pic so you can imagine. Imagination is such a virtue. :D
